First local beer of the trip, and it's dang good! After a 10 hr very hot and humid (top temperature reading so far: 108!) drive day including a bout of sticky accident traffic and a rain storm, I, for one, needed a beer. So when we went to the 7-11 (seemingly the only place still in town open for business that sold alcohol at 9pm), I was so excited to find a local beer (brewed 1.5 hrs away) of a style that was right up my alley! It was the only local one in the fridge (plus I'm a sucker for labels with character), so we really lucked out. Nothing super out of the ordinary, but solidly hoppy and great flavor that makes it litrally something to write home about (hence the post).
We are posted up in Luray, VA tonight. We are going to hop on Skyline Drive (not the one in Monterey!) to start the day as tomorrow's main attraction. It is allegedly a very pretty drive and was listed in a book of America's Top 100 Drives, in such company of drives as the Big Sur Coast, which we will hit in California.
We're having a blast so far! Looking forward to our pre-made PB&Js in the car and spectacular views outside the car that are sure to impress tomorrow.
Hasta luego!
